I’ve always wanted to see the Balloon dog in real life, it’s probably the first art work of Jeff Koons that made me introduce to him. I was very lucky to see his artworks at Centre Pompidou, Paris back in december. I actually had to drag hubby to come here. (well actually to every musea that I wanted to visit) Continue reading

My new favorite place to walk || Quay-side, Newcastle Upon Tyne
I love walking at watersides or just any place where no one knows me. I’m a sucker for places with good views, but who doesn’t? I like places where you can listen to your music without hearing someone screaming or talking loud near you. Just quiet places. Or just a place where you can sit with your friend and talk about everything and anything about life and future or just talking about good memories.
Here in Amsterdam we have a lot of canals. I love them but it’s not a place I want to be when I’m alone. It’s noisy during summer and cold during the winter. You just have to find the right place to sit.
If I lived in Newcastle then I would be here every night. And on sunday’s I would go to the market every morning. During day time you get a different feeling then during the night time. Both of them are nice but I have to say I like it more during the night time.
We used 2 different camera’s, it is a bit confusing for me and I think for you guys too. I don’t even remember what I snapped or what my friend snapped. But I still hope you like it!
Oh my, when you walk under the bridge where the birds are hanging out. You won’t like it, but it smells so bad.
After a day of shopping and walking, we wanted to snap some photos at night of the millennium bridge. We saw that sun was about to go down and what did we do? We ran out the hotel as soon as we saw that. And guess what? It was raining! But the rain wasn’t that bad. And what comes after rain when the sun was shining?
That’s right, a double rainbow. Okay here’s a fun little random story I want to share with you. As we were waiting for the lights of the bridge and shelter from the rain at a bus stop. There was a group of old chinese people. I couldn’t understand what they were saying because they were talking Wenzhou? But suddenly they got all excited and were looking at the sky. We couldn’t see anything because of the bus stop and thought “Are they excited because of a bird or something?” And then we saw the rainbow! I’m not gonna lie, sometimes it feels like I belong in a group of asian tourists, even here in Amsterdam..
I love reflections in water.
As we were waiting, we were just sitting and talking till it was dark enough for the lights. I’m a person who doesn’t talk that much but when I feel comfortable with someone I can talk and talk and talk. But unfortunately, that doesn’t happen that much in my life.
And that’s how we ended our night at the Quay-side.
In my Pj’s||OOTD 27/06/’14
I took these pictures a month ago it was taken by a person who doesn’t exits in my world anymore just in my memories and dreams. Maybe this was taken in my dream.. It was hard to decide wether to post them or not. And I came to a conclusion that I still had too. It may be not the right choice, but still had to since it’s one of my favorite outfits.
You all know how much I love to wear something comfy. It looks like I’m in my Pj’s but I’m not. I love the pants, I love my bag and I love my shoes. No I love everything. What can I say more about this look?
Candy bottle present || DIY
Everyone who knows me in person (or if you follow me on instagram), knows how much i love giving presents on birthdays in a fun and cute way. I bring it to a whole new level.
I have to warn you for the bad lighting, as I like to craft in night.. Oh and hey, it’s my first DIY post!
This is what you need:
Draw the name of the person or any word you want on the sticky paper.
Cut the letters with an exactor knife or with a pair of scissors. (I wouldn’t recommend scissors though..)
Place them nicely the way you want. It’s okay if it’s not perfectly in one straight line. (like how mine is)
Place a piece of tape on the place you don’t want to paint.
Now grab your paintbrush and let’s start painting!
Paint the part you want in any color of your choice. And let it dry for a day or during the night.
Peel the tape and the letters. Now you do have to be careful if you used thing letters. And depending on the paint you use, you have to watch out that you’re not peeling the paint off.
Now it’s time to wrap everything up! Take your presents out. And for this DIY I recommend small items.
Take some pieces of colored tissue papers. Just small pieces is enough.
And these colored/rainbow worms? Just to fill everything.
Now you don’t want the whole thing of the presents so cut it when it’s needed.
And fill it like a wanton. Or like it’s candy. You don’t want to use to much of the worms, it depends on the size of your paper. You don’t want it to be fat.
You can tie it the way you want and make some varieties! (Working small isn’t always that easy)
Fill the bottle with the candies!
And there you have a bottle filled with presents in candy form!
And if you like, write something on the tag.
I’ve put an extra layer of glaze on the bottle just to make sure it doesn’t peel of easily. It is optional to do so.
I hope you like it and enjoy it. And if you do this make sure to tag me with #little_missliu on any social media, I would love to see it!
Beacon collection || Warby Parker
A few days ago, I got an email from the marketing team of Warby Parker. They asked me if I’d like to write something about their new collection that’s coming out today. And of course I had to say YES! It’s my first time doing this and I’m pretty excited about it.
So what is Warby Parker?
Warby Parker is an eyewearstore, they sell glasses and sunglasses. At first I thought mweh that sounds pretty boring, until I saw their site. Now let’s give a moment to their look and the illustrations on their site. I love it! As a graphic design student and illustration addic, I just had to say that. Blame on my eyes!
Okay let’s get back to where I started. One thing that I like about Warby Parker besides their site, It’s also what they do. They sell their glasses and donates monthly to their nonprofit partners. So what happens next? The nonprofits train men and women in developing countries to give them a basic eye exams and sell glasses for an affordable price. And those men and women spreads anything about the awareness of eyecare in their community. And Warby Parker does green! That’s always a good thing.
The reason why I’m writing this post is because of their release of their new collection BEACON. Now I will share you my favorites of this collection. I don’t wear glasses but I always liked them and I do wear sunglasses.
McKee
McKee is an easygoing, round frame that suits
medium faces and cheery personalities.
Ingram
With squared-off lenses and a dipped browline, Ingram is
a nice choice for both leisurely pursuits and revelry.
Nancy
Nancy’s oversized lenses and angled brow detail are right
at home in your backyard or abroad.
What I love about their glasses is that they have a vintage look to it and I’m a sucker for a vintage look piece. When I look at the girl on the pictures, It does look like she’s from the 50’s or 60’s. I think they did a good job with the shoots. The pictures are photographed by, Petra Collins.
If I had to choose between these 3, I’d go for the pink McKee and like I said I don’t wear glasses but I’ve always wanted to wear one for some reasons. But maybe in the future there’s a chance that I have to wear glasses.
And as a part of my 50day’s of summer project there will be illustration coming up, so stay tuned for that!
I hoped you liked and I want to thank Warby Parker for contacting me and made me write this.
All pictures belongs to Warby Parker.
