I know that it’s not a very good time to blog right now, since I have to work on my schoolwork and the deadline is coming closer. But I know that I will make it. I have an idea of what I want to do and how I’m gonna do it. I’m very excited to handcraft again, haven’t done it in a very long time.
There’s just 15 days left? And I have to say, I will miss a lot. The freedom we’ve got and good talks with my colleague and our boss. We’ve learned pretty much a lot from him. It’s not about design work, but life. The choices what we have to make in our future and a good way to show the world what you can do and who you are. He’s a very good man and a funny man.
My time here as a intern designer is almost coming to an end. A lot has been happening here. It’s not a very good thing..but everyone is still alive. The last past few weeks, you can feel the atmosphere here. It’s not how it used to be.
I still remember my first day here. I couldn’t get in touch with the person who i had to talk to for this internship. So on my first day I finally got in touch and came a bit late.. oops, but it was okay. I could start immediately.
On my way to my first day at the company.
One of my first things I had to do. Design a bike. A bike I’ve never heard of before but only saw it on tv shows of movies. I’m talking about a Fix gear?
I remember that I came a bit late every single day in the beginning… It wasn’t my fault, the public transfer here are so annoying. Sorry to say that, but it is true. But when I started to take the bus to central station and the 5 minutes ride with the subway, everything was okay.
There are times that I went to starbucks to get a cup of coffee or a frapp. When I get here in the morning, the first thing I did was reading a creativebloq.com. I always read their articles. It is inspiring and a great way to start your day with.
And there were days were I had to wait before they came.. But that’s okay, as long as I can take some pictures from the neighborhood. I have to say, there’s a great view here. And beautiful days too!
And now the freedom. When we have nothing to do, we can draw/sketch or illustrate for our own stuffs, or we go out for a bit. And you probably know, that I blog here quite a lot, instead at home.. They won’t notice it when we’re gone for more then an hour. Not that I like that..I get nervous when my colleague wants to go out for a long time.. But the always say, “It’s good to take her outside the office”. So I guess, there’s nothing to worry about.
And this is what you can see, at times like when the Backstreetboys came to Amsterdam… Or any other events at the Amstel hotel. It’s pretty cool to see that, or to think “Oh famous people are near us”. And did I already told you about a lady in a christmas tree, singing old christmas songs in blues/jazzy style.
And there are cons too.. Our pets! Fruitflies… The funny thing is, that at my side of our office wasn’t any flies, but my colleague had A LOT.. It was everywhere in this building. But thank god, they are all gone now.
And ofcourse, hot coco time! It’s not that I get starbucks every morning, but also hot coco. While we’re waiting for someone to come, it’s hot coco time! Or a piece of pie, when a colleague quits. I’m also able to go out for lunch with friends or my colleague, they don’t notice it anyways. And again, it’s not always starbucks or hot coco, but also juices and milk tea. most days, I get some breakfast and juice at our convenience store, AH to go. It’s near the subway anyways. And again in our freedom, I also get to go to our “china town” to get some milk tea! Ohh I love milk tea and I have to say YoYo is very similar to the ones in hong kong.
And that’s all I have to tell you guys.
